Suryakumar Yadav of the Mumbai Indians has been in incredible shape. In the last few months, he’s been batting at a completely different pace. During Mumbai’s IPL 2021 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Suryakumar was in top form. He hit a swashbuckling half-century to get his team off to a flying start.
The Mumbai Indians made one change for the game, bringing in Quinton de Kock, while Kolkata kept the same lineup. De Kock, who was given the bat first, tried to free his arms early in the innings but holed out to Rahul Tripathi at long-on. Since then, the focus has been on Suryakumar Yadav, who has been batting as if the ground belonged to him, with Rohit Sharma playing second fiddle.
He smacked the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers left, right, and middle on his way to a half-century in just 33 deliveries, including six fours and two towering sixes. Suryakumar Yadav made his fifty with a six off Pat Cummins that landed on the rooftop.
