Storms And A Winter Chill Are Expected This Weekend.

Another rainy weekend awaits millions of people, with heavy clouds expected to dominate the skies over most major cities.

Winter temperatures will continue to bite across the country, so if you’re able, it may be time to hunker down indoors.

Over the weekend, most of Australia is expected to have cloudy skies.

Sydney

On Saturday and Sunday, rain of up to 20mm is expected across the city, with thunderstorms possible on both days.

Winds of up to 45km/h on Saturday and 35km/h on Sunday have prompted advisories for seaside activities such as rock fishing, swimming, and surfing.

Temperatures are expected to reach only 16 degrees Celsius on Saturday, rising to 18 degrees Celsius on Monday.

Showers are expected to continue into next week, with temperatures remaining below 20 degrees Celsius after the weekend.

Melbourne

Melbourne will have an overcast break, but temperatures will reach 15 degrees Celsius as residents enjoy their newfound freedoms.

Sunday will be noticeably colder, with a low of 5 degrees Celsius expected after a high of 9 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Brisbane

A sunny Saturday with a high of 20 degrees Celsius will be followed by a cloudy Sunday with a high of 22 degrees Celsius.

Next week is expected to be cloudy.

Adelaide

The capital of South Australia has just experienced its wettest day since 2016, with Weatherzone reporting 46mm of rain overnight.

It’s more rain in one night than Adelaide has received in any month this year.

More showers are possible on Saturday, though they will be much lighter, with skies clearing on Sunday.

Perth

Residents are advised to soak up as much sun as possible on Saturday, as showers are expected on Sunday.

Up to 30mm of rain is expected to fall on the city before the rain slows down on Monday.

Hobart

On Saturday, light rain is expected on the Apple Isle, with a high temperature of only 13 degrees Celsius.

Sunday will be cloudy but dry, with temperatures dropping to 12 degrees Celsius.

Darwin

Tropical Darwin, of course, will defy the national trend by having clear and sunny days on both Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures will reach 30 degrees Celsius on both days, with a high of 32 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 31 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

Canberra

Following a series of showers leading up to the weekend, the national capital is expected to be cloudy but dry on Saturday and Sunday.

With the high temperature only reaching 13 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 14 degrees Celsius on Sunday, people are likely to be bundled up.
